May's Trip
Originally uploaded by weaw.

As agreement with the workaholic guy like Oh that we will find the balance in this busy working lifestyle, we will try at least once a month to find a little bit more interesting places in our land of smiles to visit.

It's the one-day trip to wherever our feet will take us to.
With a little plan and with friends that love to join.
Who can ask for anything more!!

April - Koh SiChang
May - Koh Kred

~At mY TwiLighT zOne~

I was again put myself into the twilight zone (or that i call it)

Have you ever driven around and around and around and repeated again and again like no ways out?
For me seem to be several times then.

Yesterday i was out of BKK, driving to the nearby province.
FYI: it supposes to be only 1.30 hr max to get there.
But i spent twice that time to get there. Felt so stupid on myself.
And got lost while drove back as well...
Yeah .. that's me the girl with GPS in my car!!

Anyway, i was cool by myself but the memories flashed back though.
I did go through this kind of getting lost several times.
The unforgetable one would be the one with Karen on the way from Phuket to Phang Nga.
It was supposed to be 1.30 hrs simply cozy drive back from shopping.
No NO no, we ended up somewhere in the mountain with no telephone connection!
It quite scary actually.
You see..
It was 2 or 3 months after tsunami.
It was dark with no road light. (almost pitch black)
It was raining thru out and 'cz of that create the smoke from the heat on the road.
It surrounds with forest and field.
We have been heard and told about the ghosts from tsunami.
Then, we told each other that please do excuse us for not looking at each other while we talked. spooky feeling indeed.
We kept on going and going.
No one to ask.
Tried to be funny but hardly can.
It seems like we were driving in a circle.
I remember that i was asking Karen for many times "Did we pass this already?"
"Is that look familiar?"
"oh... oh... oh..."
Everywhere seems to look the same to me.
Karen was trying her grandma's trick to put your shirt inside out, then you will find the way out.
It does work though!

(Actually when we managed to call to our friends, they said to make u-turn and drive back. We said NO WAY! if we gonna end up in another province then it shall be for that night.)

Finally we managed to get back to Phang Nga afterall.

You see that's spooky plus adventure.
Now, typing and talking this we can laugh. At that time as we tried to ... just couldnt'...

I think that is the start of my twilight zone everytime i lost in my driving.

.... As they said.. if there is 1 then 2 and many more will come...

The World Development King

- Long Live The King -
UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan's Speech for Presenting Award to
HM the King
(29/05/2006)

"Your Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand,
The United Nations is honored to present to Your Majesty the United Nations Development Programme's First Human Development Lifetime Achievement Award.
We do this on the auspicious occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of Your Majesty's accession to the throne.
Your Majesty has made an extraordinary contribution to human development.
As the world's "Development King", Your Majesty has reached out to the poorest and the most vulnerable people of Thailand regardless of their status, ethnicity or religion listened to their problems, and empowered them to take their lives in their own hands.
Your Majesty's countless rural development projects have been at the forefront of innovation and benefitted millions of people across Thailand.
They have promoted smallscale agriculture, appropriate farming technologies, sustainable use of water resources, conservation, and flood and drought mitigation.
As a visionary thinker, Your Majesty has played an invaluable role in shaping the global development dialogue.
Your Majesty's "Sufficiency Economy" philosophy emphasizing moderation, responsible consumption, and resilience to external shocks is of great relevance worldwide during these times of rapid globalization. It reinforces the United Nation's efforts to promote a peoplecentred and sustainable path of development.
With this Award, we hope to further promote the invaluable experiences and lessons learnt from Your Majesty's development endeavours, and help draw attention to Your Majesty's visionary thinking beyond the borders of the Kingdom of Thailand. It is our greatest honour and privilege to present to Your Majesty this Lifetime Human Development Award."

“Sixty years ago, at His Majesty’s coronation in 1946,
His Majesty articulated his overriding goal:
‘We shall reign in righteousness for the benefit and happiness of the Siamese people’.
Those words encapsulate the commitment of His Majesty to placing the people of Thailand at the very heart of his reign and at the centre of his initiatives,”
While the list of royal initiatives is endless,
His Majesty’s four guiding principles imparted to the people for use in pursuing their lives and development:
"Moderation in conducting one’s affairs,
Perseverance in the face of hardship and suffering,
Individuality in identifying problems and selecting solutions,
and Cherishing the sense of being Thai."

To learn more of why the 60+ million hearts of Thai people belogns to him
Proud to be His Thai,
